About Me
My name is Kristina Ulm. I was born and raised in Liberty Township, Ohio and graduated from Lakota West High School in May 2014. Now, I live in Clifton and am a senior at the University of Cincinnati. I spent my freshman year as a Marketing major in the Lindner College of Business, but during my sophomore year, I transferred into Biomedical Engineering in the College of Engineering and Applied Science, and I'm loving every moment!
passions
My family and friends are my whole world. My parents have raised me to be who I am, and my sister and brother have always been there to help me back up when I fall and give me a word of encouragement. My friends are my fun times, late nights, and careless dance parties. Both old and new, I’ve had some of the best times of my life and adventurous travels to amazing places like Tennessee, New York City, Aruba and Jamaica with my best friends and made memories that will last a lifetime.
Some of my passions include children, learning and reading, nature, traveling, and my faith. I’ve been babysitting since I was in 6th grade and have worked for several different families. I have an invested interest in the children I care for and always try to engage and entertain them in new and interesting ways that allow them to think creatively and express themselves while having fun.
I’m passionate about my education as well. I take school seriously, and my goals for the future are what drive me every day to do my very best and push through the difficult times because I know the results will be worth it. I love to learn and enjoy opportunities to apply that knowledge or be able to help others because of that knowledge, and I can read for an entire day without taking a break.
The outdoors is where I feel most comfortable. My favorite place on earth is my grandparent’s farm in Indiana. There’s no other place I feel as free or content than roaming the pastures or wandering through the woods. I love to hike and camp and explore off-trail. Wildlife intrigues me, and the complexity of the world fascinates me.
If I had limitless means, I would travel the world until I had been to every country and seen all the tourist sites and all the tiny villages of the countryside, and then I’d do it all over again. I love to visit new places and experience different cultures. There is so much to learn and so many people to meet. In the spring of 2017, I blessed enough to fulfill my life-long dream of going to France! (See my fifth honors experience tab for more details!!)
Finally, all my passions and the essence of my being are due to my faith which has gotten me through difficult times and helped shape who I've become. I was raised Catholic and have gone to church all my life, but over the last few years, I’ve really begun to discover my faith and personal relationship with God. My experiences with the UC Newman Center have brought me into a deep and meaningful relationship with God and have led me to many amazing, faith-filled students whom I'm blessed to call my best friends.
