St. Monica - St. George Internship
August 2015 - May 2016
This past year, I had the privilege of being one of five student interns for St. Monica – St. George Parish Newman Center. As interns, we planned and led all events for the UC Newman Center on and off UC’s main campus. Each of the five of us led a student leadership team each in charge of its own area of campus ministry. I led the Community Team, which focused on planning events to bring reach all kinds of students and bring them together in friendship to grow with one another and build community and camaraderie. As interns we also led all of the weekly student events which included praying the rosary together in TUC and a home-made dinner prepared and served in the Parish Center or St. Monica – St. George. Further, the five of us lived in a house together in an intentional community in which we shared a meal and morning or nighttime prayer together each week.
The year was one of growth in many areas of my life including faith, leadership, and friendship. I learned more of and came to truly believe in God’s love and mercy for me. I learned how to lead as a woman or God. I made friends and memories to last a lifetime. Although the year did not turn out as I expected, and it definitely had highs and lows, I truly wouldn’t change a single moment. At every low point, I grew stronger in some way whether it was faith, courage, confidence, patience, trust, or friendship, and at every high point I experienced genuine happiness and bliss. This past year of life changed me and formed me in many ways, and I hope to take what I’ve learned and apply it each day and hold on to these memories forever.

Fall Getaway
Fall Getaway was the first major event we hosted as new interns in early September. As the leader of the community team, I planned and led most of the weekend with the aid of my fellow interns and some members of student leadership. It was a fun-filled weekend of faith and building lasting friendships. An itinerary of the weekend can be downloaded below!

Adoration
In September, I was asked to give the student reflection at the first Eucharistic Adoration of the school year. I was asked to reflect on a certain passage and even a specific line from that passage which had been the focus of the ETC retreat the interns had gone on. In this line, Jesus says, "I have come to se the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already blazing!" My reflection is given below
